NW Sue Dockstader

Writing workshop at NW Book Fun in the Sun Event
Sue Dockstader

A die-hard tea-drinking Brit, I started life as a lawyer in London and Hong Kong, saw the error of my ways, and redirected my talents to helping nonprofits strengthen their communications and fundraising. I’ve been writing content for magazines and businesses for years and recently edited and published a series of children’s books written by my lovely 88-year-old mother, Jo Coker.

A retired florist and avid gardener, Mum always hoped her grandchildren would share her love of the English countryside. To spark their interest in nature she wrote stories about an adventurous field mouse called Henry. When Mum is not promoting her books or pottering in her garden, she keeps busy knitting toys and blankets for local charities.

Now Mum’s stories are in print, I’m working on my own fiction projects. I’m contributing reflections on retirement life to Medium.com while crafting a novel revolving around faithful dogs and wise women.
